TRAINING WHEELZ INSTRUCTOR TRAINING COURSE
Our course incorporates some of the most contemporary elements of any training programme available today.
The programme integrates all three parts, thereby eliminating the totally unnecessary requirement to pass each element before beginning training for the next. A lot of training companies still insist on delivering out-of date training.
A lot of PDIs have their training targetting one test at a time and so they only see these as hurdles to overcome without appreciating how fundamental each part is to the others.
As long as you are prepared to invest your own time in to the training away from your in-car training sessions.
Your training will be supported by Go Green Driving Instructor Training. This is a very comprehensive set of training booklets, a wealth of training videos and a fortnightly 2 hour online Zoom session. These Zoom sessions can count towards the minimum 40 hours required for a trainee licence should this be your preferred training path.
The workbooks will guide you the whole training process and help you reach the standards required to pass each test.
All in-car training will be on a 1:1 basis with ether Chrsite or Kevin.

Course structure
As has been mentioned previously, we integrate all three parts of the qualifying process.
Initially we will offer you an assessment drive. This will be to establish the current standard of your driving and to advise on what you need to out into practice to reach the standard required for the Part 2 driving test.
However, this session will not just be about your driving. We will be introducing elements of the theory test as well as discussing with you the things you are likely to be doing with your learner once you start taking them - either as a PDI prior to your Part 3 test or as an ADI once you have passed.
Whilst you are preparing for your Part 1 and 2 tests we will be developing your instructor skills as well. This means that some of the hours in-car with either Christie or Kevin will be eligible as counting towards the minimum of 40 hours required for you to apply for a trainee licence.

Trainee Licence - yes or no?
Once you have passed your Part 2 driving test, there are two possible routes to gaining your ADI badge. You can opt to apply for a trainee licence or not. There are pros and cons to each and one route might suit you more than the other.
A trainee licence allows you to charge for lessons while you are still training for your Part 3 test. You are still very much learning rather than earning however! It is important not to overload your diary as you need time to reflect properly on each lesson you deliver.
You are required to complete a MINIMUM of 40 hours training prior to applying for the trainee licence. Of these a MINIMUM of 120 hours must be in car training - we provide much more than the minimum - and they must be within 6 months of the date you apply for the licence. You then need to take a minimum of 20 hours additional training within the first 3 months of the trainee licence being started.
If you decide not to take out a trainee licence then there is no minimum amount of training required but you would have to give lessons for free and also there would be the cost of paying your trainer.
One method will suit one person and the other method another person. It really is what suits you best. We can advise on what we believe would work best for you.
Once you have qualified - what's next?
Unlike many training companies, especially national ones, we do not tie you in to any contract either during your training or once you have qualified.
We do offer you the chance to join our franchise. Come and have a look at the many reasons to join us!
