Who are we?
Hi, we are Christie Palfrey and Kevin Sellwood, the owners of Training Wheelz. We have been in business together since September 2014 when Christie qualified as an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) - Kevin had qualified previously in 2007. We are both Grade A instructors and also both of us are on the ORDIT register of driver trainers. This means we have been approved by the DVSA as providing high quality training for anyone looking to train and qualify as a driving instructor. What services do we provide?
• driving lessons - for learners obviously but we also provide support for anyone who just wants to brush up their skills or who has not driven for some time and feels nervous about starting again
• training for anyone looking to qualify as a driving instructor
• a low cost franchise once qualified - but we don't tie anyone in to a long contract
• support and further training for ADIs who have a Standards Check looming
• training for any ADI looking to move into instructor training and to join the ORDIT register
Our great instructors!
We are lucky to have trained some great instructors who are continuing to work with us after they have qualified.
Bev is Christie's mother, she works in the Bridgwater and Taunton areas and has an amazing test pass record. In 2022 she had three zero fault test passes!
Carrie is our latest addition to the ranks of fully qualified instuctors.
We also have a number of trainee instructors who, hopefully, will be fully qualified soon!
To underline our commitment to training and supporting new instructors we currently have five trainees who are all on a trainee licence: Vicki in Honiton, Claire in Cranbrook, Jason and Barry covering mainly Exeter and Vicky who offers lessons in the Axminster area.
We also currently have two more, Kim and Mehran, who are about to start their training with us. They will eventually offer lessons in the Ottery St. Mary and Sidmouth area as well as Cranbrook and Exeter
